Webster Parish Police Jury and Entergy support lighting improvements at Miller Quarters Park ahead of event season

by Minden Press-Herald

Minden, Louisiana–  Miller Quarters Park will soon see enhanced lighting at its entrance thanks to recent contributions from the Webster Parish Police Jury and Entergy.

The Webster Parish Police Jury, through Police Juror Tan Grigsby, donated $1,000 toward lighting improvements. Entergy donated three lights and arms and is providing installation at no cost. Baumgardner Electrical also contributed a portion of their time and services to help get the project underway. These upgrades will improve visibility, safety, and accessibility as the park continues to serve as a growing hub for community events in downtown Minden.

“We’re really excited to see this coming together,” said Amie Poladian, Executive Director of Visit Webster Parish. “Better lighting makes a big difference, especially with so many events happening in the area. It helps create a space where people feel comfortable coming out, spending more time in the community, and enjoying everything downtown has to offer.”

The additional lighting comes just in time for a full lineup of spring events taking place in and around Miller Quarters Park, including:

  • Bites & Beats – Every 2nd Thursday through September
  • 250/190 All-American Cookout – April 9
  • Autism Acceptance Walk – April 18
  • Scottish Tartan Festival – May 2

“We’ve got a lot going on this spring, and it’s a great time to be out in Webster Parish,” Poladian added. “There’s something for everyone, and we’re looking forward to seeing people out enjoying these events and supporting our local community.”
