The Greater Minden Chamber recognized outstanding businesses and individuals during its 84th Annual Awards Gala held Tuesday, March 24, at the Minden Civic Center.
A full house of local business leaders, community members, and partners gathered for the event, which carried the theme “Together We Build, Together We Thrive.” The evening is considered one of the chamber’s premier annual events, highlighting contributions that support growth and quality of life in the community.
“Tonight is one of my favorite nights of the year because it gives us the opportunity to pause and recognize the people behind the businesses, the organizations, and the efforts that keep our community moving forward,” said Stephanie Barnette, president and CEO of the Greater Minden Chamber.
The program was emceed by Tracy Campbell and Catherine Harper Reed, who presented awards across several categories.
Kyle Towns Services was named Small Business of the Year.

“What makes Kyle Towns Services stand out is not only the wide range of services they provide but also the entrepreneurial spirit behind the company,” said Reed. “Kyle Towns represents the very best of small businesses: hard work, innovation, and a dedication to serving customers and community alike.”
Bienville Lumber Company received Business of the Year honors.

“What sets Bienville Lumber apart is their commitment to community. Although located in a neighboring parish, Bienville Lumber has consistently stepped forward to support the Minden community, demonstrating that their investment in this region goes far beyond business operations,” said Campbell.
John Carruth, manager of Minden Ace Hardware, was named Businessperson of the Year.

“What truly sets him apart is the way he consistently goes beyond the walls of his business to serve the people of Minden, especially in times of need,” said Reed. “His generosity is quiet, consistent, and deeply felt by those around him.”
The Community Partner of the Year award went to Possibilities Antiques & Collectibles / Evergreen Life Services.

“What makes Possibilities special is the mission behind it. Operated by Evergreen Life Services, the store is a social enterprise designed to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” said Campbell. “Through Possibilities, Evergreen has created a place where commerce and compassion meet.”
Mark Chreene, owner of KASO radio, received the Spirit of Hospitality Award.

“Mark is known for showing up, supporting local initiatives, and investing his time and energy into the people and organizations that make Minden stronger,” said Reed. “Thousands of Minden citizens have listened to Mark as the voice of Crimson Tide at Minden High Schools for over 25 years, broadcasting baseball, softball, boys and girls basketball, and over 250 consecutive football games on his radio station.
“Whether it’s encouraging community collaboration, supporting local efforts behind the scenes, or simply being someone that others can count on, Mark consistently demonstrates what it means to lead with both heart and purpose.”
Jack Montgomery was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Those who know Jack the best will tell you that his greatest legacy is not found in titles or accomplishments, it’s found in the way he encourages others, the way he invests in people, and leads with humility and faith. In fact, if you ask Jack about his life’s achievements, he’s going to quickly tell you that all the glory belongs to God,” said Campbell.
Jodie Waller Martin, owner of Geaux Fresh, was named the 2026 Minden Woman of the Year, an honor sponsored by the Young Women’s Service Club.

“I love my community, I love what I do. I’m grateful every day. I consider it a privilege and an honor that I get to do life with the amazing girls that I have on staff. They’re the heartbeat of why I do so much and love it. Whenever God puts something in your heart, you just have to move forward with it,” said Martin. “I’m just so thankful and so grateful.”
Graham Walker of Fibrebond was named the 2026 Minden Man of the Year.

“This year our Man of the Year received multiple nominations from across the community,” said Mayor Nick Cox. “If you were to ask people about our Man of the Year, they would tell you a few simple things. They would tell you that he’s very smart, that he shows up, and that he does what he says he’s going to do.
“Years ago, his father asked him to come help manage the business. From that opportunity, our Man of the Year stepped in, took responsibility, and helped grow the largest industry in Webster Parish into something even far greater.” Cox also noted that when Fibrebond was sold, Walker ensured employees were taken care of. “He made it a condition that roughly $240 million would be shared directly with the employees … He’s probably the only person we know, out of all of us, who has given away $240 million. That’s not business. That is character. That is leadership, and that is our Man of the Year.”
The award was accepted by his father, Claud Walker.
Mr. Walker spoke about the history of Fibrebond and how far they had come. “I’m so thankful that you saw fit to give Graham this award,” said Claud Walker
The gala concluded with chamber officials emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration among businesses, organizations and residents as Minden continues to grow.
Organizers said the annual event not only recognizes achievement, but also reinforces the partnerships and shared efforts that help move the community forward.
