CLAIBORNE PARISH (March 26, 2026) – On Tuesday, March 25, 2026, State Fire Marshal (SFM) investigators charged 41-year-old Theortis Walton of Haynesville with Aggravated Arson in connection with a Haynesville apartment fire.
In the early morning hours of March 24, 2026, Walton set fire to an apartment unit in the 1900 block of Mill Street in Haynesville. The fire burned itself out. At approximately 8 a.m., a tenant discovered the damage and notified the Haynesville Police Department. Haynesville authorities then requested SFM deputies to investigate the fire.
The SFM investigation determined that Walton intentionally set the fire. None of the apartment building occupants were injured.
The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office reminds the public that anyone with information regarding fire-related crimes is encouraged to submit an anonymous tip by visiting lasfm.org and selecting the “Arson Fires” icon.
