The Glenbrook Apaches won the District 1-1A championship Tuesday with a 7-6 victory over Cedar Creek Tuesday in Ruston.
Elsewhere, Lakeside defeated Mansfield 15-2 in a District 3-2A game at Mansfield,
Doyline defeated Providence Classical Academy 15-5 in Shreveport and Minden fell to Loyola 16-13 in Shreveport.
At Cedar Creek, the Lady Apaches trailed 6-4 through six then took the lead with three runs in the top of the seventh.
The Lady Cougars led off the bottom of the inning with a double followed by a walk. Savannah Mangrum then sat the next three batters down in order.
Kynzie Smith, Addison Chanler, Ellie Earnhardt and Gracie Heard all had singles in Glenbrook’s seventh. Mangrum had a sacrifice bunt. Gabi Brown drew a walk,
Earnhardt went 4-for-5 with a double. Heard went 3-for-4 with three RBi. Brown went 2-for-3 with a double and a solo home run.
Mangrum went the distance for the win.
Glenbrook (20-3), which extended its winning streak to 12, hosts Winnfield Thursday at 4:30. Cedar Creek dropped to 14-11.
At Mansfield, Lakeside had 11 hits in the five-inning game. Teal Austin and Rhea Waller both went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meredith Robinson went 2-for-2 with a double. Peyton Wood went 2-for-3. Bray Lewis had a double.
Wood allowed two hits, struck out eight and walked one in three innings. Lola Huddleston gave up one hit, struck out five and walked one in two innings.
Lakeside (15-8, 2-2) hosts Quitman Thursday at 5:30. Mansfield dropped to 5-11 and 1-3.
At PCA, Raelyn Pease went 3-for-3. Lanie Gates went 3-for-4 with a double.
Arianna Crump and KJ Johnson had two hits each. Pitcher Sariyah Gill hit a three-run home run. Elizabeth Wright had a double. Gill struck out 12 and walked two.
Doyline (8-4) hosts Woodlawn in a doubleheader Thursday at 5.
At Loyola, Lindsay Ryan went 4-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI. Lizzie Balkom had two doubles and two RBI.
Audrey Frye had two hits, including a double, and two RBI. Kaelyn Williams had two hits. Sky Savage had a triple. McKinley James and Tatum Oliver had one double each.
Minden (9-9) visits Logansport Thursday at 5. Loyola improved to 10-6.
