The North Webster Knights edged the Lakeside Warriors 7-6 in eight innings Thursday in Springhill.
Elsewhere, Minden fell to defending non-select Division II state champion North DeSoto 11-2 in the second of their two-game District 1-4A series in Stonewall.
At North Webster, Lakeside sent the game into extra innings tied at 6 with five runs in the top of the seventh.The Knights won it in the bottom of the seventh.
Justin Stewart led off with a walk and scored on an error on a bunt by Preston Ingle.
North Webster had six hits. Gerrit Gillentine went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Tyler Brown had a double. Ingle had two RBI.
Chandler Mckenzie allowed five hits, struck out three and walked none in six innings. Aiden Woodall pitched two scoreless innings of relief. He allowed one hit and struck out four.
Lakeside’s Brock Case went 3-for-4 with a double. Drake Chreene had a double.
North Webster (8-14) hosts Converse Monday at 4. Lakeside (9-19) visits Haughton Friday at 1.
At North DeSoto, Minden trailed 1-0 through three innings. The Griffins scored four in the fourth then added three in the fifth and sixth.
The Tide had five hits. Hudson Brown had two RBI. Barron Bower drew two walks.
Minden (20-9) completed district play 2-4. The Tide visit Magnolia Monday at 6.
North DeSoto improved to 22-7. The Griffins finished first in the four-team 1-4A division that includes Minden, Loyola and Northwood. The will play Bossier, the winner of the other division, for the championship Wednesday at 6 at home.
