City of Minden announces cleanup day for Love the Boot Week

by Amber McDown

The City of Minden will host a City-Wide Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 25, as part of its participation in Love the Boot Week, providing residents an opportunity to dispose of unwanted household items.

The event is scheduled from 8 AM until 12 PM at the Webster Parish Fairgrounds.

City officials said the cleanup day is open to Minden residents only, and participants must show proof of residency with a valid identification card or a City of Minden utility bill.

Residents will be allowed to dispose of household garbage, furniture, and wood materials during the event. However, certain items will not be accepted, including liquids, tires, electronics, hazardous materials, construction debris, and scrap metal.

The cleanup day is one of several activities taking place locally during Love the Boot Week, a statewide initiative aimed at reducing litter and encouraging community beautification efforts.
