Veterans gather for second meet and greet at Council on Aging

by Amber McDown

Veterans from across Webster Parish met Tuesday, April 21, at the Webster Parish Council on Aging for a second meet and greet hosted in partnership with the Webster Parish Veterans Safety Net.

The gathering offered veterans an opportunity to connect in a smaller, more intimate setting while enjoying coffee, cinnamon rolls, and fellowship.

Organizers said the setting allowed veterans to openly share their experiences with one another in a supportive and welcoming environment. Members of the Veterans Safety Net were also present to answer questions and provide information about available resources and services.

The coalition encourages veterans to attend monthly gatherings as a way to build connections and access support within the community.

The organization’s stated mission is  to provide unwavering support for Webster Parish veterans & ensure every hero has a secure, thriving community.

Organizers invite veterans to continue participating in future meetings and fellowship opportunities hosted throughout the parish.
