BOSSIER PARISH – On May 10, 2026, the Northeast Bossier Parish Fire District 5 requested investigative assistance from the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal (SFM) following a mobile home fire in the 1100 block of Fire Tower Road in Plain Dealing.
Upon completion of the scene examination, SFM investigators concluded that 32-year-old Rachael Crouch of Plain Dealing intentionally set fire to the mobile home. Investigators further found that Crouch was also connected to a separate crime that occurred on May 7, 2026. During that crime, Crouch poured an ignitable liquid on the victim, who is also the owner of the mobile home, and set the victim on fire, resulting in burn injuries.
On May 11, 2026, SFM deputies arrested Crouch on the following charges:
- One count of Aggravated Second Degree Battery
- One count of Simple Arson
- One count of Criminal Trespass
This remains an active investigation, and no further details are being released at this time.
