NIGHTTIME RAMP CLOSURES: I-220 westbound at I-20 interchange, Bossier Parish

by Minden Press-Herald

BOSSIER CITY – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on the nights of Monday, June 1st, Tuesday, June 2nd and Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the following ramps in Bossier City will be closed:

  • I-20 westbound to I-220 westbound (Exit 26)
  • I-20 eastbound to I-220 westbound (Exit 26)

These ramp closures are scheduled to take place from approximately 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. each night, and are necessary to allow for permanent roadway striping operations to take place at the interchange as part of the $128 million I-20 major rehabilitation project.

Westbound motorists will continue on to I-20 westbound. Drivers wishing to access I-220 may do so via the LA 782-2 (Industrial Drive) exit to US 80 (E. Texas St) to I-220.

Overall, the I-20 major rehab project, which fully rebuilt a 3.5 mile section of the interstate through Bossier City, is nearing completion. Permanent roadway striping is the primary activity that is still currently underway, requiring intermittent lane/ramp closures for safety and efficiency.

As a reminder, the commercial motor vehicle ban has been lifted through the work zone.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
