Residents are invited to gather for an evening of fellowship, entertainment, and community spirit as Minden’s annual Juneteenth celebration returns to Martin Luther King Drive on Friday, June 19.
The event will be held from 5 PM to 9 PM and will feature food, live music, games and activities for all ages, local vendors, and opportunities for community fellowship and unity.
Organizers are encouraging families and community members to attend the celebration, which honors the significance of Juneteenth while bringing residents together for an evening of fun and reflection.
The event is described as “A day to honor our past, celebrate our present, and build our future,” and commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Juneteenth has become an annual opportunity for communities across the nation to celebrate freedom, heritage, and progress. In Minden, the celebration has grown into a community gathering that highlights local culture, music, food, and civic engagement.
Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of food offerings, browse vendor booths, and participate in activities designed for all ages. Live musical entertainment is also planned throughout the evening.
Organizers said the event is intended to bring together residents from across the community while recognizing the historical importance of Juneteenth and celebrating the contributions of local citizens.
