High school girls basketball: Minden still looking for new head coach

Minden is still looking for a head girls basketball coach.

Minden Athletic Director Dean Francis said Sunday that an announcement on the school’s Facebook Page last Wednesday that DeAndre Alexander was hired as the new coach was premature.

That announcement has since been deleted. A story about Alexander’s hiring on the Press-Herald website has also been deleted.

“There were some things and we’re going in a different direction,” Francis said Sunday. He did not elaborate further.

Minden has been searching for a coach since Kelli Edwards stepped down after one season.
