Cuffs & Hoses drive helps boost summer blood supply

Minden Police Deputy Chief Tokia Harrison donates blood during the annual Cuffs & Hoses Blood Drive held June 17 at the Minden Civic Center. The friendly competition between the City of Minden Police and Fire departments helps raise awareness of the ongoing need for blood donations, particularly during the summer months when donor turnout often declines because of vacations, holidays, and school breaks. Blood collected through community drives helps ensure hospitals maintain adequate supplies for emergency care, surgeries, cancer treatments, and other lifesaving medical needs.
