Former Glenbrook star Jackson Waller helped the Bossier Phillies defeat the Abbeville-based Gulf Coast Bamk 29er’s on the first day of the American Legion Baseball state tournament Saturday at Fabacher Field in Lafayette.
Waller had an RBI-triple that gave Bossier a 9-1 lead in the fifth and final inning. He also had an RBI on a groundout in the second.
Waller is a 2025 graduate. He recently completed his freshman season at Nunez Community College. This is his first summer with the Phillies.
Bossier is looking for its third straight state championship. The Phillies advanced to the World Series the last two years and reached the semifinals in 2025.
Former Minden star Brody Bower and former Glenbrook standout Easton Sanders were members of those teams.
In addition to Waller, this year’s team is comprised of current and former players from Benton, Calvary Baptist, Evangel Christian, Cedar Creek and Northwood
