Former Glenbrook star Jackson Waller helped the Bossier Phillies advance to the winners’ bracket finals in the American Legion Baseball State Tournament Sunday in Lafayette.
Walker had two hits and two RBI in an 11-5 victory over New Orleans Jesuit-based Retief Oil.
Bossier faces Gonzalez-based Gautier Amedee Monday at 7 p.m. in the double-elimination tournament. Gautier Amedee defeated the Lafayette Drillers 2-1 in the other semifinal.
Waller is a 2025 Glenbrook graduate who recently completed his freshman season at Nunez Community College.
Northwood rising senior Nate Cervantes went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI.
Kannon Greer (2026 Benton graduate) had a triple and drew two walks. Brody Turnipseed (2026 Benton) and Cole Snell (2026 Benton) both had one hit and drew two walks.
Cooper Holmes (2026 Calvary Baptist) walked twice and had two RBI. Case Jorden (2026 Benton) had one RBI.
Snell was the starting pitcher. He scattered six hits and struck out six in 4 2/3 innings. Bryant Lacour (2025 North DeSoto) struck out four in 1 1/3 innings. Connor Yates (2026 Cedar Creek) pitched a scoreless seventh.
