Bass fishing: Glenbrook duo finish fourth in TBF Junior World Championship in Arkansas

The Glenbrook duo of Hagan Hay and Hank Rogan finished fourth in the TBF Junior World Championship bass fishing tournament on Lake Dardanelle in Arkansas.

Hay and Rogan, representing the North Louisiana Junior Fishing League, caught three bass weighing a total of 9 pounds, 11 ounces Friday on the final day of the three-day event.

The Calvary Baptist duo of Brooks Beaty and Caleb Coburn won with three fish weighing 14-3.

The tournament was for anglers in the eighth grade or less and who have not started the ninth grade by the second weekend of July immediately preceding the Junior World Championship they are attempting to qualify for, according to the event’s website.

The tournament started Thursday with 79 teams of which 63 weighed in fish.

Hay and Rogan were fourth overall after Day 1 with three fish weighing 12-3. They moved up to third after Day 2’s weigh-in, catching three bass weighing 11-5 for a two-day total of 23-15. They total also gave them the Central Division title.

The field was cut to 15 and weight totals reverted to zero.
