High school baseball: State champion coach named head coach at Minden

Paul Guerriero has been named head baseball coach at Minden, according to a post on the school’s official Facebook page.

Guerriero was the head coach at Neville from 2014 until last season. He compiled a record of 253-171.

He was previously the head baseball coach at St. Frederick for 12 years in addition to coaching football. His overall record is 479-223.

Neville reached the Class 4A state championship game in his first season at Neville. The Tigers won the state title in 2017 with a 15-1 victory over Tioga. Neville reached the semifinals in 2021.

The Tigers finished 11-13 last season.

Guerriero replaces Cody Davis, who recently stepped down after four seasons. He is now an assistant baseball and football coach at Haughton.
