High school softball: Minden promotes former Lady Tider star Reagan Lee to head coach

by Russell Hedges

Minden has promoted Reagan Lee to head softball coach, according to a post on the school’s official Facebook page.

Lee, a 24-year-old former Lady Tider star, has been an assistant for the last three seasons. She replaces Maggie Watts, who stepped down after two seasons.

Lee is a 2020 Minden graduate. She graduated from LSU in 2023.

The following quote from Lee is on the Minden Facebook page.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to lead this program and continue building a culture on hard work, accountability, and pride in representing Minden, I look forward to improving our student-athletes both on and off the field and can’t wait to see what we accomplish together. Roll Tide Roll!”

Lee’s senior season at Minden was suspended in March of 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2019, Lee served as a team captain under Head Coach Bonnie Hunter. She was named to the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association Class 4A All-State first team after batting.466 with 10 home runs and 26 RBI. She was a starter her freshman and sophomore seasons.

Lee’s main position was catcher but she also played other positions. She also played with club teams for four seasons.

Lee gives softball lessons at The Dugout USA.

Minden went 11-15 last season and made the non-select Division II playoffs, failing to DeRidder 8-5 in the first round.
