The Vintage Car Club of Minden will combine a love of classic vehicles with a celebration of history Saturday, September 12, as its 18th Annual Car and Bike Show rolls into historic downtown Minden.
This year’s show will recognize two milestones — the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 190th anniversary of Minden — while bringing together cars, trucks, motorcycles, food, games, and entertainment for all ages.
Registration is free and will be held from 7-11 AM. No entries will be accepted after 11 AM. Classes are available for all makes and models of cars, trucks, and motorcycles, giving owners of everything from vintage classics to newer rides an opportunity to join the show.
An opening ceremony will begin at 10 AM with a welcome from Minden Mayor Nick Cox. Pastor Eric Futrell of Emmanuel Baptist Church will offer the prayer, Dr. Richard Campbell will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and Josh Davis will perform the national anthem.
Among the special attractions this year will be the Kary Bryce Collection of antique cars and trucks. Corvettes, MGs, and big rigs will also be featured, adding to the variety of vehicles expected to fill the downtown area.
For local car enthusiasts, the annual show offers an opportunity to get an up-close look at vehicles representing decades of automotive history. Visitors can expect polished chrome, restored classics, custom vehicles, motorcycles, and trucks alongside newer models.
Organizers bill the event as having the largest trophy presentation in the area. Games and other entertainment will continue throughout the day, with face painting, food, and activities for visitors of all ages.
The Vintage Car Club of Minden is a family-oriented nonprofit organization that participates in area parades and car shows while supporting local sports organizations and providing assistance to those in need.
Vehicle owners interested in participating may register online through the Vintage Car Club of Minden’s website at MindenVintageCars.com or scan the registration code provided on the event flyer.
