“The Right Time. The Right Voice.”
I am excited and humbled to announce my candidacy for the Webster Parish School Board, District 11.
Webster Parish is home to me, and the people of this community mean a great deal to me. I believe in our schools, our teachers, our families, and most importantly, our children. That is why I have made the decision to seek a seat on our School Board.
This election comes at a particularly important time for Webster Parish Schools. With several current School Board members reaching their term limits, voters will be electing multiple new representatives. In addition, our current Superintendent has announced his retirement, and a new Superintendent will soon be selected. These changes present both challenges and opportunities for our school system. The decisions made by the incoming Board will have a lasting impact on our schools for years to come. I believe it is more important than ever that we carefully consider who we choose to represent us.
As a mother of three daughters, two of whom graduated from Webster Parish schools, I understand how important a good education is to a child’s future. I’ve experienced firsthand the joys, challenges, and concerns that come with being a parent in our school system. I know how much parents depend on our schools and how much our teachers and school employees give of themselves every day.
Through my work with Webster Parish Community Services, I have had the opportunity to meet and work with people from all walks of life. That experience has taught me the importance of listening, understanding the needs of others, and finding ways to make a positive difference. I also have the privilege of serving as Music Director at my local church, where I have spent many years working with people, building relationships, and serving others. These experiences have helped shape who I am and strengthened my desire to give back to our community.
I certainly don’t claim to have all the answers, but I do believe in asking questions, listening carefully, doing my homework, and making decisions based on what is right rather than what is popular. I believe our School Board should work together, respect differing opinions, and always keep the best interests of our students at the center of every decision.
I want to see our schools get back to the basics of providing a strong education, making sure our teachers have the tools and support they need, and using our resources wisely. I believe parents deserve to be heard, employees deserve to be valued, and taxpayers deserve to know their money is being spent responsibly.
To me, serving on the School Board is not about holding a title or having a position. It is about being willing to serve, being accountable to the people who elected you, and doing your part to make our schools and our community better.
If there is one thing I hope people understand about my decision to run, it is this: I care deeply about this community and the future of our children. I am not running because I believe everything needs to change, but because I believe there is always room to grow, improve, and do better. I want to be a voice of reason, someone who listens before speaking, considers every side of an issue, and works with others to make sound decisions. Our children only get one opportunity to receive the education that prepares them for life, and I believe we owe it to them to make that opportunity the very best it can be.
As we prepare to elect new School Board members and welcome a new Superintendent, I hope every voter will take the time to learn about the candidates, ask questions, and carefully consider who they believe will best represent their children, their families, and their community. This is an important election, and every vote matters.
I look forward to visiting with you, hearing your concerns, and sharing my thoughts about the future of Webster Parish Schools. I would be truly honored to have your support and your vote on November 3, 2026.
I believe this is an important time for our schools, an opportunity for fresh perspectives, and a chance to work together toward a brighter future for our children.
The Right Time. The Right Voice.
