Bradfield
Helon Bradfield passed away Jan. 8, 2016 after a battle with lung cancer and Alzheimers.
Helon Bradfield was born on Dec. 23, 1933 in Owensville, Kentucky. She was 82 years old. She lived the majority of her life in Doyline but spent many years abroad as the wife of an Army veteran.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, in the chapel at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Visitation was from noon until service time.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Luther and Dovie Dickerson Cooper; 10 siblings, Goldie, Blain, Harold, Ramon, Wynita, Opal, Anna Mae, Oscar and Nellie. Son, Freddie Sampson; grandchildren, Shannon Sampson, James Austin Cummings, Terry Vize Jr. and husband of 30 years, Harold Sampson.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Bradfield, brother Earl Cooper, sister, Shirley Cooper; her children Christine Broussard and husband Rick Broussard of Homer; Pamela Faye Sampson of Doyline; William E. Sampson of Doyline and Terry Lynn Potter and husband Doug Potter of Princeton. Grandchildren Ben Broussard, Jason Macon, Lamar Nealy, Vera Nealy, Chantel Alford, Charity Simpson, Brandon Sampson, Polly O’Mile, Billy Sampson, Brian Ross, Stephanie Mier and Jill Cheaney and 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Helon loved the Lord with all her heart and her children were her entire world. She worked hard all of her life and blessed many people in her lifetime. She was an experienced seamstress and most noted for her handmade crafts and exceptional detail in embroidery. She was selfless and known for her generous heart. She was best known for her Kentucky biscuits and fried chicken. She loved to garden both floral and vegetable.
Interment will be in the Doyline Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Macon, Fletcher Lamar Sr., Ben Broussard, Brian Ross, Jason R. Macon, Mathew Miles, Brandon Sampson and honorary pallbearer, William E. Sampson.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciate to Nurse Robyn and Chaplain Buster and the staff of Regional Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. The love and sincere concern for the well being of our mother, grandmother made this journey with her from life to death one of beauty.
