The ninth annual Back to School Bash is approaching fast, and the Webster Parish School Board is still taking in monetary donations and school supplies.
On Monday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Minden Civic Center, students and parents will have the opportunity to get school supplies and learn an abundance of health information as well as register children for school.
Ursula Hullaby, one of the coordinators of the event, said they are still accepting supplies at Central Office, located at 1442 Sheppard Street.
Vendors of all types will be there including Minden Medical Center with their hand-washing station, the Webster Parish Library, Aetna, United Health, LSU AgCenter with information about 4-H and many others.
The first 300 children in the door will receive t-shirts and local barbers and stylists will be on hand for free haircuts.
United Way of Northwest Louisiana is heading up the volunteers this year, and for those who wish to volunteer at the event or help sort and pack supplies, email Jennifer Horton, community engagement coordinator, at volunteer@unitedwaynwla.org.
