A Minden man was arrested over the weekend on his third DWI charge.
Kevin Shyne, 38, of the 2100 block of La. Hwy. 531, was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center on charges of DWI third offense and speeding.
Deputy Marshall Merritt stopped Shyne Saturday night for reportedly driving 51 in a 35 mph area of Industrial Drive.
While speaking with Shyne, an odor of an alcoholic beverage could be smelled by Merritt, according to the arrest affidavit. Shyne then reportedly told the deputy he drank a Budweiser.
A standard field sobriety test was performed on Shyne, which he failed, the report said.
He was placed under arrest and transported to the Webster Parish sheriff’s patrol office to submit a breath sample.
An hour after the traffic stop, the breath sample submitted by Shyne registered as a 0.69 percent, just under the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
In an unrelated incident, deputies arrested “PeeWee” for reportedly drinking and driving three times over the legal limit.
Sergio “PeeWee” Sanchez, 26, of the 100 block of Holomon Loop in Dubberly, was booked on DWI first offense, open container, no proof of insurance and improper lane usage expired registration.
Deputy John Lewis Jr. stopped Sanchez after seeing his orange Chevrolet Camaro cross the center and fog lines multiple times along U.S. Highway 80 early Sunday morning, according to the arrest affidavit.
When the deputy walked up to the car, he reportedly saw an open Bud Light bottle behind the passenger seat.
Sanchez was asked to step out of the vehicle, where he reportedly “swayed back and forth” as he walked to the back of the car, the report said. He reportedly told the deputy he had eight to 10 beers.
A standard field sobriety test was conducted, which he performed poorly on, and refused two other tests, the report said.
Sanchez was placed under arrest and transported to the patrol office to submit a breath sample, which registered at 0.241 percent.
He was later transported to BDCC.
In a separate incident, Deputy Lewis also arrested Ronnie Fizer, 58, of the 100 block of Felix Carter Road, for DWI first offense and improper lane usage.
