Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Twyla L. Moore, 70, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home’s Chapel in Homer, LA, on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. John McClelland and Rev. Jason Leonard, officiating. Interment will follow at Weldon Cemetery in Bernice, LA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, on Friday from 5-8 p.m.

Mrs. Moore was born on March 24, 1947, in Weldon, LA, to Loy Ray and Lona Rea Lee. She entered into rest on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, in Shreveport, LA, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Moore worked for six years as a commercial artist with the U.S. Airforce. She then was employed for over 25 years with the Louisiana Soil Conservation Service and was known by 5th students on field trips as the “Dirt Lady.” Mrs. Moore later worked as a Court Reporter in Juvenile Court of Caddo Parish for over eight years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Homer, Jaycees and a scout leader for the Cub Scouts. Gardening was her passion and it showed in her yard. Mrs. Moore was an artist, avid do-it-yourselfer, and a lover of flea markets.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Terry Wayne Lee; and mother-in-law, Gladys Moore.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert Moore; two sons, Geoffry Moore of Heflin, LA and Richard Moore of Queen City, TX; two sisters, Loyce Hightower of Athens, LA and Katie Clements of Homer; five grandchildren; a special friend, Diane Wilson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be John Cole, Eddie Lee, Leslie Hollis, Teddy Cox, Randy Thomas and Donnie Lee.

In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Moore, her family suggests memorials be to donor’s choice in her name.
