This year has been a great journey for my family and me to say the least. We started out last year by deciding on getting our heath back. My husband met his goal by November of last year. It took me a bit longer and I did it on February of 2019.
Another exciting thing was when we found out we were going to be grandparents in August. Though I decided to be a health coach from the beginning I really didn’t start coaching until truly all in until January. We also own a couple of businesses. To say the least we are busy all the time.
In learning several things this year about being healthy and helping others we decided that no matter what we do from here on out that we were going to live above the line. That’s right you heard it right. Living above the line. What does that mean? Well, for us it is always striving to do better. Always listening, reading and learning things that make us better. I feel if you are not learning and striving to do better than you will become stangnet and fall behind.
We had to ask ourselves this…. Are we happy where we are at in life? Are we happy with the money we make? Is what we are doing now make us happy and can we see us doing this for the rest of our lives? We decided that no was our answer to all of these. We have to make a change in order to change. We are always looking for side hustles. You have your main thing you do but you also have side hustles to get to where you want to be. Bring people in with you ready to live above the line and go with you. It is better to do life together.
I know there are a lot that has had a hard upbringing and a hard life. But your upbringing doesn’t define you. When is enough enough. You can’t blame what happened to you in your past now. There is some point in your life when you need to pick yourself up by the bootstraps and take control of your own life. It is called adulting. And sometimes it stinks. Life is hard for sure but it is even harder when you sit back and blame everyone else for how your life has turned out. Most people don’t get it right the first time. I don’t call failure as a failing moment, I call it a learning tool.
You want to know how to start fresh and get your life going in the right direction? Starting by writing your goals down of what you want in life. Find out where you want to go. Stop and think about where you want to be in five years. Start hanging around people of influence. People that live above the line. Get on some podcast that help you move forward in your goals. Start reading some books of people living life to the fullest. One book that is really good is “Church boy to Millionaire” By Doug Wood. If that doesn’t get you thinking and wanting to change then I guess you deserve to stay where you are at.
You always become the ones you hang around most. Toxic people create chaos, point fingers, shift blame and avoid taking responsibility. Sometimes you may have to separate you hanging out with some people. You can’t hang out with the ones that are always negative all the time. Life is full of adventure and you can have great fun along the way. Why not have an adventure, have fun and make money all at the same time.
Cajun Foil Shrimp foil Packets
Ingredients
18 pieces corn on the cob (6 full cobs cut in half or in thirds)
4 red potatoes washed and cubed
25 uncooked shrimp peeled or not, it’s up to you
1 pound smoked sausage cut into chunks
1/2 cup melted butter or olive oil, to taste
1/2 cup chicken broth you may not need that much
1 Tbsp Cajun/Creole seasoning we like to use Tony Chachere’s brand, to taste
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Heat grill to 400-degrees. You can do this in your oven at the same temperature.
Evenly distribute corn, potatoes, shrimp, and sausage between 4 heavy-duty foil sheets (approximately 12×18 inches each).
Drizzle melted butter and about 2 tablespoons chicken broth over each foil packet.
Season evenly and generously, to taste, with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Tightly seal foil packets by folding up the sides over the contents and tightly folding up the ends over the seam.
Grill 30-40 minutes or until potatoes are tender, flipping once half-way through
Be careful opening the packets to check for doneness, the steam inside is VERY hot!
