The flu shot in reality is very ineffective at preventing infection. A recent issue of Dr. David Brownstein’s “Natural Way to Health” had a scathing analysis of how ineffective the vaccines actually were, with one called FluLaval testing to be less than 3% effective [out of 100 people vaccinated, only 3 did not catch the flu]. In addition to the “active ingredients”, vaccines also contain a mercury-based preservative, formaldehyde, and other questionable chemicals which, by themselves, have been shown to cause cancer, neurological problems, and suppression of the immune system. Why would anyone inject a toxic substance into their body for a 2.9% lower risk of infection?
Also, if the antiviral medicine prescribed is Tamiflu, you’re paying up to $130 for a prescription that only reduces the length of infection for a day when administered to children and less than a day for adults. See a more in depth analysis here: http://www.bbc.com/news/health-26969811 The British study shows that staying hydrated, washing your hands, and taking tylenol is just as effective without exposing one to possibly serious side effects. A natural alternative is to go to the store and get a box of Oscillococcinum, which is a homeopathic flu remedy. I’ve seen boxes at Walmart but online vendors have much better prices.
