Graveside Services for Geraldine Cotton Davidson will be held Saturday, May 2, 11:00 AM at the Mt. Comfort B.C. Cemetery with Rev. Billy J. Hawkins, officiating. 

Geraldine Cotton Davidson was the first born of ten. She was the mother figure to all her sisters and brothers. She loved her family. 

She confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Vannie Brown. 

Geraldine attended school in Rapides parish. 

After meeting Bobby Ray Davidson, they were married and moved to his hometown of Minden, LA. They became the proud parents of Kenneth Ray, Dewanda Faye, and Gerald Tyree. 

After relocating to Minden, Geraldine united with Mt. Pilgrim B.C. under the leadership of Rev. Billy J. Hawkins where she continued her Christian commitment. She worked in various capacities in the church, some being: church clerk for more than 30 years; helped organized the Pilgrim Pride Drill Team along with Pastor Hawkins, Rev. Fisher, and Deacon Jimmy Flournoy; Youth Director; Mission Ministry; Deaconess; Choir Member; and representative to the State Convention. Geraldine was also an integral member of the N.W. 14th District Baptist Association, working in all auxiliaries. 

On Saturday, April 25,2020. Sister Geraldine Cotton Davidson received her Heavenly wings. She made her transition from her earthly home to her heavenly home surrounded by her family. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby; son, Kenneth; daughter, Vonda Kay; mother, Bernice Cotton Jones; great granddaughter, Kenzie Cornelius; grandparents, Harvey and Bertha Cotton; brothers, Harvey Ray, James (Bubba), and Walter Louis; and sister, Fannie Jean. 

Geraldine Cotton Davidson is survived by her son, Gerald Tyree Davidson; her daughter, Dewanda Faye Cornelius; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; three brothers: Robert Cotton (Mishell) of Tacoma, Wa, Charles “Doc” Cotton and Rodger Cotton, of Alexandria, LA; two sisters, Mary Sue Hurks (Charles) and Rita Cotton of Pineville, LA; an aunt, Martha Cotton of Alexandria, LA; three sisters-in-law, Ernestine McClinton, June Cotton, and Vera Davidson; one brother-in-law, Leonard Davidson (Connie); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; best friend, Wilma and other close friends Ms. Betty, Dorothy, Edna and Mordean. 

Geraldine’s life was filled with service for her Master, family, church, and friends. Geraldine is gone but will live in the hearts of those she touched.
