The Minden High School softball team started strong and threw the knockout blow in the fourth inning Tuesday as the Lady Tide took a 10-0 home win over Northwood.
Minden’s Jacey Adams hit a two-single to open scoring for the Lady Tide in the bottom of the first inning and MHS added another pair of runs in the bottom of the second to move out in front with a 4-0 advantage.
The Lady Tide doubled that lead in the fourth inning as Ella Floyd, Ada Faith Gilbert, Alivia McKenzie and Kendall Lynn all drove in runs.
Kylie Ryan, Leigha Kennon-Gilbert, Adams, and Lynn all had multiple hits for the Lady Tide with Ryan smashing a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to cap off the win.
Ryan also pitched for the Lady Tide and picked up the shutout win.
