My question is, if my son FAILS due to it, IS it HIS FAULT? Should he have to repeat 5th grade because of this idiotic curriculum?? Because he’s on the possible failure list and a Very Smart kid!
I think every parent should keep their children home on PARCC testing day.
Since my kids do relatively well in math, I’m more concerned with the detailed teachings of Islam & the short overview of Christianity. Schools have made sure to pull religion & prayer out of schools only to reinsert it. I’m all for freedom of religion & children having a moment of silence to pray in the mornings if they so choose. If common core is going to cover religion, then I believe it should cover ALL of them equally, not one more than others. I know that Barack Obama promotes common core, even offering more funding to the states that adopt it. Is it just a coincidence that his (Obama’s) religion is discussed more thoroughly than any other?
I don’t understand the purpose ….I mean my child does great all year n just becuz he/she fails this one test he/she fails the grade!!! That’s not fair that’s a slap n the face!!! Why work hard all year when they can just concentrate on this test???
I do too! I refuse to let my students fail because of a faulty, untried curriculum.
