Memorial services celebrating the life of Barbara A. Dunaway will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at North Acres Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Chad Logan officiating.
Barbara was born April 30, 1938, in Rayville, Louisiana and entered into her Heavenly Home on August 26, 2023, in Minden, Louisiana.
She is survived by her children, Cliff Sanborn and wife Kathy, Vikki LaValle and husband Billy, and Laura Evans and husband Fred; brother, John Edward Alexander; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Dunaway; parents, Delton and Ora Farrar Alexander; father and mother-in-law, Clyde and Nadine Dunaway; brother, Carl Alexander and wife Dorothy; sisters-in-law, Fran Webb and Katherine McKey; and brother-in-law, Clay Dunaway.
Barbara was known for her involvement in local politics, serving as City Clerk in Baker, LA, Eloy, AZ and Goodyear, AZ. She was also a member of various civic and religious organizations, actively participating in charitable and social functions. Her presence in Minden will leave an empty spot in the hearts and minds of those lives she touched along her journey of life.
