Mt. Olive Christian School homecoming celebration this Friday

Mt. Olive Christian School will have its homecoming celebration on Friday, October 13th at 7:00 pm. MOCS will be hosting the John Paul the Great Guardians out of Lafayette. Homecoming court presentation will be Friday the 13th at 2:30 in the auditorium. The homecoming court presentation will also take place at halftime of the football game. 

On Friday, MOCS hosted trooper LeAnne Hodges who came and spoke to the 6th – 12th grades about using social media responsibly. This special assembly was organized by MOCS alumnus and assistant district attorney in Bienville Parish, Tammy Jump. Several topics were discussed including how to avoid and detect internet predators, not participating in cyber bullying, and general internet safety. Trooper Hodges was received warmly by the students.

Some of our elementary students won an art contest at the Claiborne Parish Butterfly festival. All three students won cash prizes for their drawings. Raylan and Kailyn both won 3rd place awards, and Zoe (middle) won second place. The MOCS visual arts program is under the direction of Bonnie Ferguson of Athens, LA.
