Webster Parish man wanted for attempted murder in Minden shooting

Authorities in Webster Parish are actively seeking a suspect wanted for attempted second-degree murder following a shooting incident in Minden last week.

The Minden Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Drive, where they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was subsequently transported to Ochsner LSU Health for treatment. Further investigation revealed a second victim who had been shot in the leg but initially did not seek medical treatment.

During the course of the investigation, authorities identified 28-year-old Jaryon Stephens as the alleged perpetrator of the shooting. A warrant has been issued for Stephens on the charge of attempted second-degree murder.

Collaborative efforts between the Minden Police Department, the City Marshal’s Office, and the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office are underway to apprehend Stephens, utilizing all available resources.

Minden Police Chief McIver expressed confidence in the efforts, stating, “I feel confident we’ll be catching him soon,” while urging the public to come forward with any information regarding Stephens’ whereabouts. “We encourage the public to contact us if they see him or know his whereabouts. We will make sure they stay anonymous.”
