High school softball: Glenbrook wins fifth in a row

The Glenbrook Lady Apaches defeated Evangel Christian 7-2 for their fifth straight victory Tuesday at home.

Elsewhere, Lakeside fell to Many 8-2 at Lakeside. The Minden-North Webster game scheduled to be played in Springhill was canceled.

At Glenbrook, Gabi Brown hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the Lady Apaches’ three-run first inning.

Glenbrook added four runs in the fifth. Chloe Gregg, Colby Hollis and Rebecca Mosley had singles in the inning.

Mosley went the distance. She allowed seven hits, struck out three and walked none.

Glenbrook (8-5) is scheduled to play Forest in the St. Frederick tournament Friday.

At Lakeside, Mackenzie McCoy went 3-for-4 with a home run double and two RBI. Rainie Hughes also went 3-for-4.

Izzy Vise had a double.

Lakeside dropped to 4-9.
