The Springhill North Webster Chamber of Commerce recently held its 70th Annual Awards Banquet, a night of celebration and recognition for outstanding community members and organizations.
Incoming Chamber Board President, Tim Mouser, honored outgoing president Will Whitehead for his commendable service over the past year, presenting him with the president’s gavel in recognition of his leadership.
The Civic Service Award was presented to the Springhill Masonic Lodge #348 F & AM, a group of dedicated men known for their selfless service to the community. Mike Word, the 2024 Master of the Lodge, accepted the award on behalf of the lodge, joined by members Billy Sayers, Jay Hearnsberger, Danny Edens, Lloyd Clements, Chase Lovell, Mike Coyle, Russell White, Logan Taylor, Butch Lynd, Scott Taliaferro, and Robert Hilburn.
The Ambassador of the Year Award went to the Springhill Main Street Board, including Main Street Director Aime Poladian, Brianna Savoy, Nikki Reeves, Callie Carter, and Michelle Parkerson. These women were recognized for their dedication to projects that foster enthusiasm and pride in the city.
Suzanne Souter Smith was named Businesswoman of the Year, recognized for her management and practice as a pharmacist at Springhill Family Pharmacy, along with her dedication to family and community. Accompanying Suzanne was her proud husband, Robert.
Daniel Duck was honored as Businessman of the Year for his proprietorship of The Corner Drug Store and other ventures.
McMahen Veterinary Hospital was named Business of the Year for their longstanding commitment to pet care in the community. Dr. Scott Hoyle, Dr. Tony Pearce, Dr. Cindy Tripp, Shellie Umphries, Sherry Gray, and Julie Brown were featured in the photo representing McMahen’s outstanding services.
Mrs. Nelda Hataway received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her significant impact on education at North Webster High School and Springhill High School, particularly through her work in the libraries. Nelda also contributes to Springhill Methodist Church through her musical talents and teaching roles.
The Springhill North Webster Chamber of Commerce expressed gratitude to all sponsors for their support in making the banquet possible and extended appreciation to all winners and nominees for their contributions to the community.
