Celebrating Discovery Camp 2024 triumphs at Webster Parish Libraries

by Minden Press-Herald

As Webster Parish Libraries’ Discovery Camp 2024 draws to a close, we are thrilled to reflect on the extraordinary journey of reading and discovery our campers embarked upon this summer. With the deadline of July 6th fast approaching, we urge all participants to ensure their reading achievements are logged either on Beanstack or their paper logs to be eligible for recognition.

This summer has been an overwhelming success. Cassidy Duck, the Youth Services Coordinator, shared her enthusiasm, saying, “It’s been an unforgettable summer here at Webster Parish Libraries. The energy and dedication shown by our campers have been truly inspiring.”

For those aiming to attend our Completion Party, logging a minimum of 10 books is the ticket to join in the festivities. These readers will be honored for their commitment to exploring new worlds through books with a certificate. Additionally, those who have read an impressive 50 books or more will receive a special accolade—a medal presented by the iconic Smokey the Bear himself.

If you participated in the reading challenge at the Minden, Heflin, Sibley or Doyline branch, your Year End Party will be held on Thursday, July 18th from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at Webster Parish Libraries Minden branch located at 521 East and West Street Minden, LA 71055. If you participated in the reading challenge at the Springhill, Cotton Valley or Sarepta branch your Year End Party will be held on Friday, July 19th from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the Webster Parish Libraries – Springhill branch located at 1000 South Arkansas Street Springhill, LA 71075.

We can’t wait to see you!
