Tourism to hold public forums on Miller Quarters project

The Webster Parish Convention & Visitors Commission has scheduled two public forums on July 18 to present project plans for Miller Quarters and gather public input on development phases. The forums will be held at the Minden Community House, 711 Gladney Street, from 10-11 AM and 5:30-6:30 PM.

The proposed design includes a promenade at the main entrance, food truck pavilion, walking and biking trails, a dog park, bridges and low-head dam barriers for flood management, an amphitheater, a playground with a water fountain pad, and multiple restroom facilities. Entrances from various sides of the park and additional parking options are also being explored.

Projected costs range from $7 million to $10 million, with the project designed to be built in stages.

The public is encouraged to participate in this discussion about the future of Miller Quarters park.
