The Glenbrook Apaches got their offense revved up in a 46-33 victory over Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy Friday night in Youngsville.
Glenbrook improved to 2-1. ARCA just started its football program, and the game was played at the Eagles’ new $16 million stadium with an artificial turf field.
The Apaches offense found the field to its liking.
Glenbrook got major production from seniors Easton Sanders, Seth Mangrum, Jackson Waller and Cade Vining.
Sanders completed 21-of-30 passes for 313 yards and four touchdowns with one interception. Mangrum rushed for 124 yards on 12 carries. Walker caught 11 passes for 170 yards and three touchdowns.
Vining picked up 95 yards on 13 carries and scored two touchdowns.
Glenbrook Head Coach Reagan Smith also praised the performances of freshmen Carson Powell and Darron Hollingsworth.
Powell scored Glenbrook’s first touchdown on a 46-yard pass from Sanders. He finished with two catches for 61 yards.
Hollingsworth caught five passes for 54 yards.
“We were just really able to execute and get some production from our seniors and some young kids, some freshmen,” Smith said. “It all came together for a pretty explosive offensive night. I’m just really proud of our offense.”
Glenbrook hosts Cedar Creek Friday. The Cougars (0-3) lost to Loyola 48-14 Friday night.
