Minden Fire Department secures hydration support from local business

Firefighters with the City of Minden Fire Department have recently received crucial support to ensure their hydration needs are met during the intense heat of summer.

According to Fire Chief Brian Williams, staying hydrated is key to the health and safety of firefighters, particularly during high-intensity responses like structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, and grass fires. During these incidents, firefighters lose a significant amount of fluid, and bottled water is essential to their well-being.

“We depend on support from the community for items such as bottled water to keep our firefighters hydrated during the summer months,” said Williams. “Recently, our department used all the remaining bottled water we keep on hand.”

To replenish these supplies, the department turned to Brookshire Grocery Company, which approved support through its Giving Back to Our Communities program. This allowed the Minden Fire Department to secure a pallet of bottled water, helping to prepare firefighters for the demands of their work in excessive heat conditions.

The City of Minden Fire Department expressed its gratitude for the ongoing support from local businesses, which help keep first responders safe and performing at their best.

The donation from Brookshire Grocery Company highlights the value of community partnerships, especially in maintaining the health and safety of those who protect and serve Minden’s residents.
