Webster Parish Libraries is preparing for its annual Trunk or Treat event on October 28 at the Minden main branch, with changes to traffic and parking plans to accommodate the large crowds expected. This year’s event will feature road closures and a shuttle service to enhance pedestrian safety.
The City of Minden and the Webster Parish Police Jury have approved the temporary closure of the following streets:
- East and West Street, between Elm Street and Buchanan Street (front of the library)
- Ferguson Street, between Elm Street and Buchanan Street (behind the library)
“Due to the anticipated large crowd, road closures, and limited parking availability on the day of the event at our Minden location, we are pleased to offer a complimentary trolley shuttle service from the public parking areas highlighted in red on the map below. The 27-passenger trolley will run from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, with the shuttle pickup and drop-off point marked in yellow. We encourage the public to utilize this free service for a smoother and more convenient event experience.
“A special thank you to the City of Minden and the Webster Parish Police Jury for providing these designated parking options,” said Kim Sentell, director of marketing for Webster Parish Libraries.
The trolley route will travel down Broadway Street and turn onto Buchanan Street before reaching the drop-off location at the intersection of Buchanan Street and East and West Street. The shuttle will continue to loop back to the designated parking areas throughout the event.
This year’s Trunk or Treat aims to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for the community, with the new measures helping to manage the flow of traffic and improve accessibility for all attendees. The library encourages participants to review the new road closures and parking options to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.oad closures and parking options to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.
