by Minden Press-Herald

The Springhill Lumberjack Parade is honored to announce  that Trey Maxwell, 2023 Louisiana State Logger of the Year, will serve as this year’s Grand  Marshal. Recognized for his outstanding contributions to sustainable forestry practices and  leadership in the logging industry, Maxwell brings a wealth of expertise and a legacy of  excellence that perfectly embodies the spirit of the parade.

A native of North Webster Parish and current resident of Sarepta, Trey has been a pillar of the  forestry community for over 28 years, providing services to both Louisiana and Arkansas  through his company, Trey Maxwell Trucking. His commitment to excellence and environmental  stewardship makes him an outstanding representative of our small, rural parish.

Maxwell, a highly respected figure in Louisiana’s logging community, was awarded the  prestigious title of 2023 Louisiana State Logger of the Year by the Louisiana Forestry  Association for his commitment to sustainable forestry, innovative logging techniques, and  adherence to the highest standards of environmental stewardship. His company, Maxwell  Logging, has consistently been at the forefront of implementing best practices in forest  management and has played a pivotal role in promoting safety and efficiency within the industry.

Maxwell has been widely recognized for his expertise and leadership in the logging industry. He  has been featured on the Minding the Forest podcast (June 2024), in the Louisiana Farm Bureau  News, and by the Louisiana Forestry Association in 2019. His company gained regional acclaim  when it was highlighted in a cover feature of Timber Harvesting Magazine in 2017, showcasing  the innovation and success of his business.

With over 28 years of industry experience, Maxwell has not only led numerous successful  logging projects but has also served as a mentor to up-and-coming professionals in the field. His  dedication to advancing the industry was further exemplified through his active involvement in  the Louisiana Logging Council, where he contributed to initiatives that support logger  education and safety training statewide. As an advocate for sustainable forestry practices and  safety standards, his work has not only elevated industry standards but also paved the way for  future loggers.
