Women’s college basketball: Tech picked to finish fifth in CUSA

Louisiana Tech is predicted to finish fifth in Conference USA as voted on by the league’s head coaches, the conference announced on Thursday.

The Lady Techsters garnered 59 points to land behind Western Kentucky with 61 points. Middle Tennessee received nine of the 10 first place votes.

Louisiana Tech returns starters Jianna Morris, an All-CUSA Freshman team member a year ago, along with Robin Lee. The Lady Techsters added seven freshmen and two transfers in the offseason.

The season kicks off on November 4, with the annual Education Day game against Nicholls at 11:30 a.m. CT. LA Tech will host UTA Arlington, Mississippi Valley, Southeastern, Alcorn, Central Baptist, and LSU Alexandria inside the Thomas Assembly Center before hitting conference play. They will travel to take on South Alabama, Stephen F. Austin, Baylor, and TCU.

The Lady Techsters and Dunkin’ Dogs will host the Tip-Off Dinner in the TAC on October 24.
