The City of Minden will host the Fall 2024 Mid-Size City Conference from October 23 to 25, bringing together leaders from across Louisiana. The event will feature mayors from cities with populations between 10,000 and 30,000.
Mid-size cities face challenges similar to larger municipalities but with smaller budgets. “We know that every dollar counts, and we personally know the people who pay taxes as our friends and neighbors,” reads the organization’s manual. The roundtable-style meetings provide an opportunity for city leaders to exchange ideas and discuss solutions to common problems.
“I’m excited to host the Mid-sized Cities Mayor’s Conference here in Minden,” said Mayor Nick Cox. “This event brings together mayors from cities across Louisiana … to share ideas, discuss solutions to common challenges, and learn from one another. It’s a great opportunity to explore strategies that work well and find ways to strengthen our communities.”
The conference, held twice a year, last took place in Minden in spring 2013.
The City of Minden’s hosting of this event underscores its ongoing role in supporting community development through collaborative efforts.
