College football: Grambling State’s Andrew Jones named SWAC Defensive Player of the Week

For the third time this season, Grambling State linebacker Andrew Jones has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Defensive Player of the Week.

Jones, a redshirt-junior from Marrero, La, was a once again the most dominant defender on the field on in Saturday’s 24-23 victory over Alabama State. The SWAC’s leading tackler made 14 total tackles, seven solo stops and 2.0 tackles for loss. 

He currently has 97 total tackles, 44 solo tackles, 16 TFLs and and two sacks on the year.
