RUSTON – Jordan Marshall’s big opening week earned her Conference USA Freshman of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.

Marshall nearly recorded a double-double in her first three games as a Lady Techster. The Arkansas native opened the season with 12 points and nine rebounds against Nicholls. She would go 13 and seven at South Alabama.

She had a breakout game against UT Arlington, helping the Techsters come from behind in the second half to win 71-60. She became the first freshman since Jaquan Jackson in 2014 to score 20 points in a game with 22. She added nine boards to just miss a double-double.

Marshall is the first freshman to score in double figures in her first three career games since LA Tech HOF member Tamicha Jackson accomplished that feat in her first six games in the 1996 season.
