Local scholarship fundraiser returns with glitz & glam 

The members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Iota Rho Omega  Chapter are delighted to announce the 2024 Fashionetta to be held on November 26, 2024, at 6 PM  at the Minden Civic Center, Minden, LA. 

Fashionetta is one of the chapter’s most anticipated fundraising events that provide scholarships  for young people and monetary donations to various organizations. Some of the supported  organizations include—St. Jude, the American Heart Association, the American Sickle Cell Anemia  Association, Susan G. Komen, American Cancer Society, the Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry, and other  worthwhile causes that advance their mission of “Service to all Mankind.”  

This year’s Fashionetta features five young ladies competing for the title of “Miss Fashionetta” The contestants are Kamayiah Moore, Christin Simpson, Ansleigh Kadynn Walker, Airyanna  Nicole Centris White, and Makenley Paige Wiggins. The winner will be crowned on Tuesday,  November 26th.  

Along with the “Miss Fashionetta” competition, PINK LUCY by Tiffany Walker, an award  winning, celebrity designer/stylist will showcase “The Edge of Glam” featuring cutting-edge and  glamorous fashion. Jeremy Brown (JBrown), a classically trained electric and acoustic hip-hop,  pop, jazz, soul and gospel violinist will provide entertainment. Fashionetta is made possible through the efforts of Iota Rho Omega Chapter members, contestants,  and community supporters. The event is open to the public. Admission is $10 with tickets available  at the door or from Iota Rho Omega Chapter members.
