The Doyline Panthers won the Jimmy Stewart Invitational boys division Friday night with a 59-55 victory over Summerfield at Doyline.
Sophomore Jay Patterson led Doyline (5-1) with 30 points. Senior Damarion McClendon added 16.
Patterson scored 13 in the first quarter as the Panthers took a 19-12 lead. He finished the half with 18. Doyline led 36-20 at the half.
Summerfield’s Antonio Buggs scored 13 of his 27 points in the third quarter. The Rebels cut the Panthers’ lead in half and trailed 49-41 going into the fourth.
Doyline was 6-of-7 from the free throw line down the stretch.
Doyline defeated Family Community in the first round Thursday.
