The Minden Junior Service League (JSL) has announced the successful results of its recent coat drive, thanks to the generous support of the local community. The initiative brought in 183 coats to help keep children warm throughout the winter. In addition to the current collection, JSL has set aside 126 extra coats to be prepared for next year’s distribution.
In a gesture of ensuring no donation goes unused, at least four full bags of coats were given to Mercy’s Closet, so all items found a place, even if they did not meet the specific needs of the drive.
The drive also raised an impressive $3,997 to assist in purchasing additional coats, reinforcing the organization’s ability to continue this vital outreach. The Minden JSL expressed gratitude to the community for showing up and making a significant difference, one coat at a time.
The organization celebrated the achievement, emphasizing that this support allows them to extend their mission to support local children and families.
