A Minden woman faces a felony charge of aggravated battery following a dispute at a residence in the 1100 block of Cherry Street on November 19.
According to police, officers responded to a disturbance involving Yasmies Fraizer, 31, and her 16-year-old niece. The verbal dispute reportedly escalated, with both individuals claiming the teenager threatened Fraizer with a pencil during the altercation. However, police said Fraizer retrieved a metal baseball bat and struck her niece on the right shoulder, causing visible swelling.
In the course of the investigation, officers determined that the situation had de-escalated before the bat was used. Fraizer was arrested and transported to the Minden Police Department, where she was booked on one count of aggravated battery.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
