Annual Civitan Santa Toy Program begins for Christmas season

by Amber McDown

The annual “Civitan Santa” Christmas Toy Program, sponsored by the Minden Civitan Club and the Young Woman’s Service Club, is underway to bring holiday cheer to children in need across Minden and South Webster Parish.

Each year, the program collects and distributes toys to local families, with deliveries made just before Christmas by members of the Minden Police Department and the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office.

New toy donations can be dropped off with any Civitan member, at the Minden Police Department, or at designated drop boxes at participating businesses. Cash contributions are also welcome and can be mailed to the Minden Civitan Club at P.O. Box 95, Minden, LA 71058.

Families wishing to apply for assistance can pick up application forms at the Minden Police Department or the Webster Community Action offices. Applications will be accepted for children up to age 13.

To ensure timely delivery, applications must be submitted by December 16.

This annual initiative underscores the community’s commitment to spreading holiday joy and ensuring that every child has a memorable Christmas.
