The Minden boys and girls advanced to the semifinals of the Brown Service Center Minden Holiday Classic Wednesday at Minden High.
The Crimson Tide and Lady Tiders both defeated Jonesboro-Hodge. The boys won 62-39 and the girls 42-38.
Lakeside advanced to the girls quarterfinals with a 42-18 victory over Loyola. The Lakeside boys fell to Arcadia.
Darnell Morris led four Crimson Tide players in double figures with 18 points. Jaiden Franklin had 15, Kameron Harris 12 and Cameron Parker 10.
Minden (8-0) will play the winner between Arcadia and Northwood in the semifinals Friday at 8 p.m. at Minden High. Northwood edged Homer 47-44 in the first round.
Markeitha Willis led the Lady Tiders with 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Shelby Glenn and Brooklyn Jefferson scored nine each. Glenn also had five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Jefferson also had 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals.
Travesti Byrd had eight points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals.
The Lady Tiders (6-4) will play the winner between Lakeside and Mansfield in the semifinals Friday at 6:40 at Minden High. Mansfield defeated Homer 42-34 in the first round.
Loyola College Prep advanced to the semifinals in the bottom half of the boys bracket with a 74-60 victory over Parkway. The Flyers will play the winner between Gibsland-Coleman and Camden Fairview, Ark., Friday.
In first-round games, Camden Fairview defeated Green Oaks 64-46 and Gibsland-Coleman edged Lincoln Prep 56-54.
Defending champion Arcadia advanced to the semifinals in the bottom half of the girls bracket with a 60-21 victory over Simsboro. The Lady Hornets will take on the winner between North Caddo and Camden Fairview Friday.
In first-round games, North Caddo got by Green Oaks 43-40 in overtime and Camden Fairview defeated Gibsland-Coleman 74-44.
