Public invited to review safety action plan draft
Shout out to community-in-action! Thanks to your voices, the Northwest Louisiana Safe Streets and Roads for All Regional Safety Action Plan DRAFT (SS4A) is here—and it’s based on YOUR input!
Back in August, the Northwest Louisiana Council of Governments (NLCOG) reached out to our community for feedback on roadway safety through online surveys and interactive activities at the Springhill Farmers Market. Maybe you remember spinning the Louisiana traffic safety trivia wheel or marking dangerous intersections on their map? Thanks to your participation in person at the August Farmers’ Market and through their surveys on the Springhill Main Street social media platforms, the NCLOG were able to gather valuable insights to prioritize safety projects for Webster Parish and beyond.
What’s Next?
The SS4A Plan draft identifies key areas for improvement, targeting projects with the greatest potential to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries. It’s a bold goal—zero traffic fatalities by 2050—and your input plays a key role in making it happen.
The SS4A Plan draft is now open for public review and comment until Friday, January 31, 2025. This is your chance to weigh in and ensure our community’s needs are fully represented.

Why Your Input Matters
By sharing your thoughts, you’re helping shape a safer and stronger Webster Parish. This plan, developed through collaboration between NLCOG and local residents, showcases the power of community involvement in driving meaningful change. Together, we can create a transportation network that protects residents, visitors, and future generations.
“We’re thrilled to see the results of this community-driven effort,” said Amie Poladian, Executive Director of Springhill Main Street. “When people show up to speak for their community, big things happen. The SS4A Plan draft is a testament to what’s possible when voices are heard, and we encourage everyone to review and share feedback.”
